Body, Mind and Fitness Redesigned
My design preaches the concept of playing. Inspired by the concept of Pilates, which uses body’s own weight and resistance for working out, I have designed a gym that facilitates workout without machines. It breaks away from the monotonous regime of running on treadmills and ellipticals. It has been designed like an open playground where you can run, climb ropes or jump onto a trampoline for cardio. Workout is based on everyday activities like bending, running, jumping, climbing to help you carry on these daily life activities more efficiently. It enhances, balance, stability, improves posture and tones muscles rather than making them bulky. Essentially, it provides functional training with the help of some basic equipment, which make the space suitable for kids of age 8 to 12 as well. The space is designed to make you feel like you were playing in a park, by getting outdoor activities inside and mimicking the outdoor environment
